Shetty’s influence extended to the financial sector as he took over UAE Exchange in 1980, facilitating money remittance for expatriates globally. This endeavor culminated in the acquisition of Travelex in 2014, boasting a global footprint with stores and ATMs across 27 countries.

In 2003, B R Shetty founded NMC Neopharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturer centered on modular manufacturing and global benchmarks in technology.
