US Announces : In a significant development for Indian travelers, the United States has made a substantial move by offering 250K fresh opportunities for non-immigrant visa appointments during the weekend. As per information provided by the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce, more than 150,000 Indian citizens have journeyed to the United States as of September 2023.
US Announces New Indian Applicants Count
Recently, the United States Mission in India achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving one million applications for non-immigrant visas this year. This signifies a 20% surge in the number of applications processed compared to the figures from 2019.
As reported by the US Embassy and Consulates in India, the United States received a remarkable 1.2 million Indian visitors in the previous year, establishing it as one of the strongest travel connections globally.
Indians now account for more than 10% of the global visa applicant pool, encompassing 20% of all students seeking visas and a significant 65% of those applying for H&L-category visas related to employment. The Embassy, in response, expresses a warm welcome to this upsurge in numbers.
While implementing various measures throughout the year to address the persistent issue of surging visa processing times, the United States continues to grapple with unresolved delays, even two years after the pandemic initially disrupted these procedures.
