Indian Businesses in canada won't Suffer
Businesses : Pandemic’s Remote Work Lessons Benefit Indian Businesses : Amidst an ongoing diplomatic dispute, India’s suspension of visa services for Canadian citizens has raised concerns within the technology sector, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
While this decision may potentially lead to delays in securing new contracts, its impact on projects already underway by Indian IT firms in Canada is expected to be relatively minimal.
This is due to Canada not reciprocating with a suspension of visa applications from Indians. However, the situation could escalate if Canada were to implement visa restrictions as well.

Nonetheless, given the global adaptation to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, short-term visa limitations are unlikely to significantly disrupt business operations.
Vikram Shroff, Head of HR Law at Nishith Desai Associates, highlighted that the Indian government’s decision will pose challenges for Canadian citizens who are investors, entrepreneurs, or technology professionals seeking visas to travel to India.
He expressed concerns that this move could hinder the flow of technology talent between the two countries. Shroff clarified that this decision does not affect Canadian citizens who already hold Indian visas or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cards.
Additionally, it does not restrict Indian citizens from visiting Canada for various purposes, including family visits, business activities, or educational pursuits. Cyrus D Mehta, Managing Partner of the New York-based law firm, stressed the significance of keeping immigration channels open, especially during diplomatic disputes.
