January Intake: Canada Visa Process Faces New Challenges

Canada Visa Process for January Intake Applicants

January Intake: In recent weeks, the Canada visa process has encountered delays, causing concern among prospective students. Now, with the withdrawal of 41 diplomats and the suspension of in-person visa services for January intake in Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, the situation has become even more complex. As a result, students preparing for the January intake are feeling a heightened sense of urgency.

Educational consultants operating in this field are providing crucial guidance to these students, strongly advising them to submit their applications by November 15 to secure their spots in the January intake. While the atmosphere is one of uncertainty, most students are heeding this advice.

January Intake :  New Challenges

Gurpreet Singh, an education consultant based in Kapurthala, sheds light on the situation, saying, “If the fees have been paid, and all other formalities have been completed, we are still processing student applications for the January intake. Even if there are delays in visa processing, some colleges offer deferrals.”

Another consultant from Pyramid Overseas, based in Jalandhar, reiterates, “It’s not too late at the moment. We are currently processing applications and will continue to do so until November 15. Some colleges start their January intake courses on January 5, while others begin on January 10, 15, and 20.”

Further emphasizing the timing, another consultant notes, “It’s not late since results are coming in three to four weeks. Even if they are delayed by five to six weeks, it will not be too late if students submit their applications by November 15.”

Kamalpreet Kaur, a student from Jalandhar, applied for a visa for the January intake on October 27, remaining hopeful as her consultant has assured her that the visa will arrive by the end of November or early December.

She expressed, “If I receive the visa, my course at a Canadian college will start on January 15, giving me ample time to prepare.” She also mentioned that her two cousins are also planning to enrol in the January intake, having applied for their visas just yesterday.

While visas are being processed in relatively short periods, applicants are maintaining a two-month margin when submitting their applications, as stated by a representative of Speak Perfect Overseas, a Jalandhar-based consultancy.

As the clock ticks and questions continue to pile up regarding the January intake, time is running out. Students have been strongly advised to apply within a week or within 10 days or consider waiting for the May intake, as suggested by Tanu Kaur, an IELTS trainer and consultant. She emphasized that students should not consider applying for the January intake beyond November 15.

Amandeep Singh, who also has a study gap of three years, remains confident, stating, “Even though I’ve heard that the visa process has recently slowed down, I’m applying based on my consultant’s recommendation, which assures me of admission in the January intake.”
