Australia Reaccepts TOEFL for Visa Process

TOEFL Valid for Australian Universities

Australia Reaccepts: The Educational Testing Service (ETS), responsible for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), announced on Monday that TOEFL scores will once again be accepted for all Australian visa applications.

This decision follows a temporary suspension by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) last July, which was initiated to review the test.

Started from May 5 this year, TOEFL exams will be valid for visa applications in Australia. Sachin Jain, Country Manager for ETS India and South Asia, highlighted the importance of this reinstatement, particularly for Indian students and professionals.

Jain noted that Australia is a top destination for Indian nationals, with over 120K Indian students enrolled in Australian institutions last year.

The acceptance of TOEFL scores had been paused since July 25 of the previous year, following modifications to the test by ETS.

The DHA had suspended the use of TOEFL scores to allow time for these changes to be reviewed. The current review by the DHA is assessing the recent updates made to the TOEFL iBT.

This resumption is expected to benefit a significant number of applicants, facilitating their educational and professional aspirations in Australia.

By reinstating TOEFL scores, the DHA aims to provide a wider array of options for English language proficiency tests, thereby supporting the influx of international talent into the country.
