UAE Rolls: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a new initiative, introducing a 10-year Blue Residency visa intended for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding efforts and contributions towards environmental conservation, encompassing marine and terrestrial realms.
Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, announced the visa’s introduction via a post on social media platform X, declaring 2024 as the year of sustainability.
UAE Rolls Out…
He emphasized that the Blue Residency visa aims to reward individuals making remarkable strides in environmental protection, including advancements in marine and land conservation, air quality improvement, sustainability practices, modern technologies, circular economy initiatives, and related fields.
Sheikh Mohammed underscored the UAE’s commitment to aligning economic sustainability with environmental stewardship, affirming clear and steadfast national objectives in this crucial domain.
Traditionally, residency visas in the UAE are valid for two years. However, in 2019, the country launched the Golden Visa program, offering ten-year residencies to investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, exceptional students and graduates, and humanitarian leaders.
Building on this initiative, the UAE introduced Green Visas in 2022, providing a five-year residency option tailored for skilled professionals, freelancers, investors, and entrepreneurs.
The introduction of the Blue Residency visa further expands the UAE’s visa offerings, highlighting its proactive stance in promoting sustainability and attracting global talent committed to environmental excellence.
As the program rolls out, stakeholders in environmental conservation and related sectors are encouraged to explore the opportunities presented by this new long-term residency option in the UAE.
