Sneh Khemka: Leading the Charge for Preventive and Predictive Healthcare Worldwide

In a world where healthcare is rapidly evolving, few individuals have managed to stand at the intersection of innovation, compassion, and global leadership quite like Sneh Khemka, a true healthcare visionary. His journey from the operation theatres of the NHS to the boardrooms of multinational healthcare giants is nothing short of extraordinary—a beacon of transformation, purpose, and impact.

Sneh Khemka: From Surgeon to System Shaper

Dr. Sneh Khemka’s story begins with a scalpel in hand and a vision in the heart. Trained as a cancer surgeon in Edinburgh and London, he specialized in ocular oncology—a rare and highly delicate field. Even during these early years in the NHS, his drive went beyond the clinical. He wasn’t just treating patients; he was already imagining ways to reform the very system in which care was delivered.

What set Sneh apart was not just his clinical skill, but his clarity of purpose: to heal not just individuals, but entire populations.

Entrepreneurial Beginnings: Mediletter and Beyond

With an entrepreneurial spirit pulsing through his veins, Sneh founded Mediletter, a medical communications business. The success and sale of this venture marked the beginning of a new chapter—one where clinical excellence met strategic leadership. It was not just about business; it was about using business as a tool to improve human health.

Sneh Khemka: Leading at Bupa and Advanced Oncotherapy

Sneh’s meteoric rise in the corporate healthcare landscape saw him take on the mantle of Global Medical Director and Director of Healthcare Development at Bupa, a renowned international healthcare group. Here, he worked on expanding access, enhancing sustainability, and building patient-centred services that impacted millions.

Later, as Chief Operating Officer at Advanced Oncotherapy PLC, he led the development of revolutionary proton therapy technology—a breakthrough in cancer treatment spun out from the iconic CERN. His leadership helped translate science into scalable healing, taking cancer care into a new era.

Global Reach: Aetna, CVS Health, and the Blueprint of Nations

At Aetna International, part of CVS Health, Sneh headed Population Health on a global scale. This role gave him the canvas to bring modern healthcare frameworks to countries around the world—from Asia to the Middle East. His unit didn’t just improve systems—they helped design new national health infrastructures, replicating the best of the NHS with digital tools, data analytics, and patient empowerment.

In nations like India, Thailand, South Korea, and the UAE, his impact rippled through health reforms, digital innovation, and public-private partnerships. He became the voice of futuristic healthcare—one that is predictive, preventative, and profoundly personal.

Simplyhealth and Purposeful Leadership

As CEO of Simplyhealth, a purpose-led British healthcare insurer with a 150-year-old legacy, Sneh ushered in a bold transformation. Under his stewardship, the company sharpened its focus on delivering innovative services with heart. With nearly 1,000 employees and £250 million in revenue, Sneh transformed Simplyhealth into a resilient and agile force for good, navigating the COVID-19 era with compassion and clarity.

NEOM: Designing the Future of Healthcare

Today, Sneh Khemka stands at the forefront of what may be the most ambitious healthcare project of our time—NEOM, Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city of tomorrow. As Executive Director of Integrated Healthcare and Wellbeing, he is building a system not burdened by legacy, but built from scratch on the pillars of Prediction, Prevention, and Precision.

This isn’t just about medical care; it’s about creating a new human-centred experience of health, integrating genomics, AI, digital diagnostics, lifestyle medicine, and social wellbeing. It is a blueprint for how humanity might care for itself in the next century.

Sneh Khemka: Boardroom to Bedside – Bridging Innovation and Impact

Sneh remains deeply involved in shaping health innovation. As a Venture Partner at Archimed Health, he supports startups and scale-ups in metabolic health, dentistry, longevity, neurodiversity, and more. He sits on the boards of companies like Synnovis (the UK’s largest diagnostic lab provider), Habitual Healthcare, Medi2Data, AllergyRhino, and Qured.

What’s extraordinary is that despite these monumental responsibilities, he continues clinical practice—both as a radio doctor on London’s LBC 97.3FM and as an expedition medic, supporting adventurers in some of the world’s toughest environments. This blend of frontline medicine with boardroom leadership keeps his approach grounded, holistic, and profoundly human.

Honours and Humility

In 2025, Sneh Khemka was awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for his services to global healthcare—a richly deserved recognition for a life lived in pursuit of health equity and innovation.

He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Wales and an Honorary Member of the Faculty of Public Health. His accolades, including the Royal Society of Medicine Prize and McCartney Prize, are matched only by the respect he commands in every room he enters.

A Life Rooted in Purpose

Beyond titles and triumphs, Sneh Khemka defines success not by metrics but by meaning. His philosophy is simple: “True change happens when you lead with heart, scale with mind, and never lose sight of those you serve.” He is a rare fusion of surgeon, entrepreneur, policymaker, and humanitarian—a man whose career is a map of modern healthcare evolution.

He is also a father, a husband, a polyglot (fluent in English, French, and Hindi), and above all, a mentor to the next generation of health leaders.
