Speaking at the ceremonial inauguration of the Border Roads Organisation’s 50 key infrastructure projects spanning six States and two Union Territories, Singh unequivocally stated: “We killed only those who killed the innocent. Our forces acted with unmatched precision, alertness, and above all, sensitivity. No civilian population was harmed. The objectives were clear, and every target was destroyed exactly as planned.”
The Defence Minister further explained that Operation Sindoor was not a spontaneous reaction, but a carefully considered response rooted in restraint, humanity, and strategic foresight. “Our action has been taken very thoughtfully and in a measured manner. We exercised our right to respond because the attack was not just on our people—it was an attack on the conscience of India,” he said.
Terror’s Trail Ends at the Border
Following a detailed investigation, security agencies traced the origins of the Pahalgam massacre to terror outfits operating with support from across the border. The masterminds behind the attack were found to have ties with Pakistan-based groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba, both of which have long histories of orchestrating violence on Indian soil.
In what officials have described as a “non-escalatory yet proportionate” retaliation, Indian forces launched a 25-minute-long operation targeting and obliterating nine terror infrastructures—four in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reiterated India’s stance, stating, “There was no demonstrable step taken by Pakistan to dismantle the terror networks under its control. Therefore, India was left with no choice but to deliver justice to the perpetrators through Operation Sindoor.”
