Rajdeep’s husband, Manjinder Singh, residing illegally in the United States, is seeking a green card. Her in-laws, Daljit Kaur and Jagdev Singh, were arrested for their alleged involvement, while Manjinder Singh faces charges despite being in the US.
Sultanpur Lodhi DSP, Babandeep Singh, stated, that the woman was murdered as she had hefty life insurance coverage. The post-mortem report cited asphyxia due to smothering as the cause of death.
The disturbing aspect emerged when it was revealed that Rajdeep’s in-laws stored her body in a freezer for two days before notifying the police. Rajdeep’s parents in the UK were informed through a telephone call.
Suspecting foul play, Rajdeep’s mother, Nirmal Kaur, lodged a complaint with Sultanpur Lodhi police on January 25, expressing concerns about her daughter’s torture by her husband, allegedly pressuring her for property transfer.
The family claims Manjinder initially provided conflicting causes of death. Sultanpur Lodhi police registered an FIR against Rajdeep’s in-laws and her husband on the same day the post-mortem confirmed asphyxia as the cause of death.
