Born on 20th April 1960 in Kenya to a family with Iranian-Indian roots, Mohamed Amersi’s journey to becoming a global thought leader began with humble beginnings. In 1976, he moved to the UK and studied at Merchant Taylors School.
His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue medicine and law at Sheffield and Cambridge universities. Later, in 2016, he earned an Executive MBA at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
Amersi’s commitment to education and knowledge is further evident in his role as an honorary fellow of Brasenose College, Oxford, and an independent governor of the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester.

Mohamed Amersi’s career is a testament to his versatility and determination. He started as a barrister at 1 Brick Court before transitioning into corporate law with Clifford Chance and Jones, Day Reavis & Pogue. During this time, he specialized in equity-related deals, handling over 100 transactions for issuers and financial institutions.
In the telecommunications sector, Amersi made a significant impact. He served as a senior advisor at Telefónica and co-founded Gramercy Communications Partners in New York.
From 2008 to 2013, he played a pivotal role as a senior advisor to the TeliaSonera Group, leading their M&A activities, including the IPO of Kcell and MegaFon. His achievements extended to various board memberships, including Rothschild Banking Group entities, Motorola, MegaFon, and Mi-Fone.
