From a young age, Jaskaran Malhotra exhibited a natural talent for cricket, captaining Himachal Pradesh at the under-19 level. His early achievements hinted at a promising future, but little did he know that his journey would take him across the globe to become a pivotal player for the United States cricket team.

The Bold Move to the United States

In 2014, Jaskaran Malhotra made a life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States, settling in the bustling metropolis of New York City.

This move was not just about seeking new opportunities but was driven by a deep-seated ambition to leave an indelible mark on the international cricketing stage. His journey from Chandigarh to New York was marked by challenges, but Malhotra’s unwavering dedication and love for the game kept him focused on his goals.

Making Waves in US Cricket

Malhotra’s hard work and talent did not go unnoticed. In January 2018, he was named in the United States squad for the 2017–18 Regional Super50 tournament in the West Indies.

His List A debut for the United States came against the Leeward Islands on January 31, 2018, marking the beginning of an illustrious career. His performances were impressive, showcasing his ability to adapt and excel in different cricketing conditions.

Rising Through the Ranks

In August 2018, Jaskaran Malhotra was selected for the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Americas Qualifier tournament in Morrisville, North Carolina.

His consistent performances earned him spots in the United States’ squads for the 2018–19 Regional Super50 tournament and the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Oman. These opportunities were pivotal in cementing his reputation as a key player for the US cricket team.

Achieving International Milestones

February 2019 marked a significant milestone in Malhotra’s career as he was named in the United States’ Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against the United Arab Emirates. These matches were historic, being the first T20I fixtures for the US team. Malhotra made his T20I debut on March 15, 2019, showcasing his prowess on an international platform.

In April 2019, Jaskaran Malhotra was part of the squad for the ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia.

The US team’s commendable performance in this tournament earned them One Day International (ODI) status, a monumental achievement in US cricket history. Malhotra made his ODI debut on April 27, 2019, against Papua New Guinea, further establishing his international credentials.
