Germany : Reduces Temporary Visa Processing Time to 8 Weeks
Visa Processing Time Reduced in Germany
Germany : The processing duration for German Schengen visas has been condensed to eight weeks, as stated by Georg Enzweiler, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy.
Enzweiler mentioned that visa processing is a crucial matter, and efforts are being made to improve application timelines. However, he acknowledged that despite the desire for an immediate change, bureaucratic procedures do slow down the process.
The embassy has taken steps to address this by significantly augmenting their staff in Mumbai, resulting in a considerable reduction in waiting times. In April, the German embassy had issued guidance indicating that due to a notable upsurge in demand for Schengen visas, there were extended waiting periods for appointment scheduling and visa processing.

However, it is important to note that this figure only amounted to 65 percent of the levels seen before the pandemic outbreak.
