Trump Blasts Kamala Harris on Border Issues, Promises to “Liberate” Wisconsin
Trump Slams Kamala Harris on Border Policy: "She Erased the U.S. Border"
Former US President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, on Saturday, where he launched a series of harsh attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, focusing on immigration and her handling of border security. Speaking to a large crowd, Trump accused Harris of “erasing” the US border and allowing what he described as a migrant invasion, a move he claimed has led to crime and chaos.
Trump, who has been critical of Harris throughout her time in office, took his criticism to new levels. He blamed her for the influx of illegal border crossings, stating, “Kamala Harris has effectively erased the border of the United States.” This sharp rhetoric continued throughout his speech, as he promised to “liberate” the country from what he framed as a border crisis. “I will liberate Wisconsin from the mass migrant invasion,” Donald declared, drawing loud applause from the audience. “We’re going to liberate the country.”
Trump’s Personal Attacks on Harris Escalate
In addition to his policy-focused criticism, Trump escalated his personal attacks on the Vice President, calling her “mentally impaired” and a “disaster.” He even went so far as to say, “Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala was born that way.” This inflammatory remark marked one of the more aggressive jabs he’s taken at Harris, whom he has targeted since she entered the race alongside Biden.
The former president continued his assault by questioning Harris’s judgment and competence, suggesting that “only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country.” Trump’s attacks on Harris’s intelligence and ability to handle border security have been a consistent theme in his rhetoric, but his latest remarks added a deeply personal dimension to the ongoing feud.
Earlier this year, Donald controversially questioned Harris’s racial identity, a move widely condemned by political commentators. He falsely claimed she “turned Black” for political gain, stating at the time, “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she Black?”
Tough Stance on Immigration
Despite the provocative nature of his attacks on Harris, Trump’s speech in Wisconsin also reinforced his hardline stance on immigration, a key issue in his political platform. The former president vowed to carry out what he described as “the largest deportation operation in US history” if he is re-elected.
His message struck a chord with many in the audience, who cheered as he claimed that Americans trust him more than Harris when it comes to handling border security. Polls in key swing states, such as Wisconsin, show Trump leading on this issue, making it a focal point of his campaign.
Trump’s speech quickly jumped from immigration to a range of other topics, including climate change, the state of his physical health compared to President Biden’s, and alleged assassination attempts against him. The freewheeling nature of the rally kept the audience engaged, but it was clear that immigration remained the central theme of his message.
Kamala Harris Responds
Harris did not take long to respond to Trump’s latest attacks. Speaking at a campaign event in San Francisco, she called Trump “a very unserious man” with outdated rhetoric. She also warned that a second Trump presidency would have “severe consequences” for the country, particularly on immigration issues. Harris criticized Trump for separating children from their parents at the border during his first term, a policy his administration implemented but which he denied responsibility for during his Wisconsin rally.
In an ironic twist, the Harris campaign aired a football-themed advertisement during the Alabama-Georgia game, which Trump attended after his rally. The ad challenged Trump to a second debate, mocking him for avoiding another face-off. It even labeled him a “loser” for dodging the opportunity.
