Born in Nairobi, Kenya, in either 1968 or 1969, Ali Velshi’s early years were shaped by the cultural richness of his surroundings. Raised in Toronto, Ontario, Velshi’s parents, Murad and Mila Velshi, instilled in him a spirit of determination and a thirst for knowledge.
He attended Toronto’s Northern Secondary School, where his leadership skills were evident as he was elected school president. Velshi later pursued a degree in religious studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, graduating in 1994.

He also hosted “The Turnaround,” a reality television show aimed at helping small business owners navigate challenges and achieve success.
