Investigations unearthed an international drug network, manufacturing substances in Kurkumbh and dispatching them to London disguised as food parcels via courier. Flights were utilized to export the drugs, camouflaged within food packets.

Bhujbal, a chemical engineer at R&D Pvt Ltd, and Sable, a pharmaceutical company owner in Kurkumbh, orchestrated the manufacturing process after Bhujbal provided the MD formula. Shaikh, recently released from Yerwada jail, collaborated with Bhujbal and Sable, storing MD in a godown.

The accused used coded language to conceal MD shipments. Sam, crucial to the operation, exploited his London passport to facilitate drug transport.

Despite recent months’ scrutiny, authorities failed to detect the drug shipments via food couriers, underscoring the challenges in monitoring such activities.

The Pune Police intensifies its search for Sam, emphasizing the need to dismantle the network’s international links. It is the biggest bust of the year so far, and more names might come out as the investigation proceeds.
