The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) prolongs registration period for FY 2025 H-1B cap. Originally slated to conclude at noon Eastern on March 22, 2024, the registration window will now remain open until noon Eastern on March 25, 2024.
This extension follows a temporary system outage affecting some registrants. USCIS aims to accommodate those affected by granting additional time to complete their registrations.
2025 H-1B Updates
During this extended period, prospective petitioners and their representatives must utilize a USCIS online account to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process and pay the associated registration fee for each beneficiary.
On February 28, 2024, USCIS introduced new myUSCIS organizational accounts, enabling collaboration among multiple individuals within an organization and their legal representatives for H-1B registrations, petitions, and associated Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service.
This year, participation in the H-1B Electronic Registration Process necessitates a new organizational account. In an effort to aid for organizations in navigating this new process, USCIS initiated Tech Talks sessions in February 2024. Sessions provide clarity on organizational accounts and Form I-129 filing.
The extension of the registration period and the introduction of new organizational accounts underscore USCIS’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and accessible process for H-1B visa applicants and their representatives amidst evolving digital landscapes and technical challenges.
