UK Youth Mobility Visa: Final Ballot for 2025 India Young Professionals Scheme

UK Youth Mobility Visa: In an exciting update for aspiring Indian professionals, the UK government has announced the second and final ballot for the 2025 India Young Professionals Scheme, set to open at 1:30 PM IST on July 22, 2025, and close at 1:30 PM IST on July 24, 2025. This round presents a final opportunity for qualified Indian nationals to secure one of the remaining coveted spots under the UK-India youth mobility agreement.

This government-to-government initiative forms part of a reciprocal arrangement between India and the United Kingdom, aimed at nurturing cultural and professional exchange. Through this program, Indian citizens aged 18 to 30 are granted the opportunity to live, work, and experience life in the UK for up to two years.

UK Youth Mobility Visa: Eligibility – Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the 2025 India Young Professionals Scheme, applicants must meet a specific set of criteria:

  • Be an Indian citizen aged between 18 and 30.

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, recognized as UK RQF Level 6, 7, or 8 or an equivalent overseas qualification.

  • Possess at least £2,530 in personal savings, maintained for 28 consecutive days before application.

  • Do not have children under 18 who live with them or rely on them financially.

  • Not have previously held a UK Youth Mobility or India Young Professionals Scheme visa.

Only those who strictly meet all eligibility conditions should consider entering the ballot.

Ballot Entry Process

Entering the ballot is free of cost. Interested applicants must submit the following details via the UK government’s online system:

  • Full name and date of birth

  • Valid passport details and a clear scan or photo of the passport

  • A working email address and contact number

Each applicant is allowed only one entry. Multiple entries will result in disqualification.

Once the ballot closes, entries will be randomly selected, and results will be shared via email within two weeks. Unfortunately, no appeals are possible for unsuccessful candidates.

UK Youth Mobility Visa: If Selected – What’s Next?

If you are one of the lucky individuals selected in the 2025 India Young Professionals Scheme ballot, here’s what follows:

  • You must apply for the visa within 90 days of receiving the invitation.

  • Pay the £319 visa application fee.

  • Pay the immigration health surcharge, which grants access to the UK’s National Health Service.

  • Provide biometric data, including a photograph and fingerprints, at a designated visa application center.

If selected but unable to proceed with the visa application, there’s no obligation to inform authorities—your spot will simply not be filled.

Availability and Final Numbers

This July ballot will fill the remaining slots of the 3,000 total places allocated for 2025. A majority of the spots were already distributed in the February 2025 ballot. Therefore, this final call is the last chance this year for Indian citizens hoping to take part in this enriching program.
