UAE Reinforces World Strategy with New Visit Visa Categories

In a landmark move to strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation, culture, and tourism, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled four new visit visa categories designed to attract specialists in artificial intelligence, professionals in entertainment, participants of international events, and tourists arriving through cruise ships and leisure boats.

The decision, announced by the UAE authorities, highlights the nation’s continued commitment to openness, talent attraction, and entrepreneurship—particularly in the fast-growing fields of technology, artificial intelligence, entertainment, and tourism.

UAE: Four New Visit Visa Categories

1. AI Specialist Visa
   This visa targets professionals and experts in artificial intelligence. It is available as a single or multiple-entry permit for a specified period. Applicants must provide a letter from a sponsoring or hosting entity, such as a facility specialized in the technology field.

2. Entertainment Visa
   Designed for foreigners visiting the UAE for entertainment purposes, this short-term visa supports the growing entertainment industry in the region.

3. Events Visa
   Issued for foreigners attending festivals, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, cultural, sports, economic, and community activities, this visa requires sponsorship by a public or private entity. Applicants must submit a letter with event details, including its duration.

4. Tourism Visa
   This category specifically caters to cruise ship and leisure boat passengers. It allows multiple entries during the voyage, provided the itinerary includes UAE stops and the sponsor is a licensed tourism facility.

Clear Conditions and Extended Benefits

The UAE’s updated visa framework outlines clear schedules specifying authorized stay durations and extension conditions. Beyond the new categories, several other visa amendments have also been introduced:

• Widows and Divorcees Residence Permit: A one-year renewable permit, subject to conditions.

• Friend or Relative Visit Visa: Allows sponsorship up to the third degree, based on income.

• Business Exploration Visa: Requires financial solvency, ownership in an overseas company, or proven professional practice.

• Truck Driver Visa: Requires sponsorship and financial/health guarantees.

Humanitarian and Special Provisions

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security retains the right to issue visas for foreigners from countries suffering wars, disasters, or unrest without the need for a guarantor. Humanitarian residence permits will be issued for one year, with the possibility of renewal under specific conditions.
