Donald Trump has strongly condemned the horrific killing of Chandra Nagamallaiah, an Indian-origin motel manager who was brutally beheaded in front of his wife and young son in Dallas, Texas by an alleged illegal immigrant from Cuba. The incident, described by authorities as “unthinkable,” has shaken the local community and sparked renewed political debate over immigration and public safety.
Trump Vows Action, Slams Biden Administration
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump called the Chandra Nagamallaiah killing “terrible” and vowed that the suspect, identified as Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
“I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country,” Trump wrote.
Trump accused the current administration of failing to keep dangerous criminals out of the country, stating that Joe Biden’s policies had allowed Cobos-Martinez to remain in the U.S. despite a record of serious offenses. According to Trump, the suspect had prior arrests for child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, yet was released because Cuba refused to take him back.
“Time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch,” Trump asserted, praising Kristi Noem (Secretary of Homeland Security), Pam Bondi (Attorney General), and Tom Homan (Border Czar) for working tirelessly to, as he put it, “MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN.”
He added that Cobos-Martinez, currently in custody, will face first-degree murder charges.
The Grisly Incident: What Happened
According to police reports and court affidavits, the Chandra Nagamallaiah killing took place after the motel manager reportedly asked Cobos-Martinez not to use a broken washing machine on the property. The confrontation quickly turned violent, with the suspect allegedly attacking Nagamallaiah using a machete in front of his terrified wife and young son.
Investigators revealed that Cobos-Martinez beheaded the victim and placed the severed head in a trash bin. When officers arrived, he was found wearing a blood-soaked T-shirt. Authorities later confirmed that the suspect admitted to the killing during questioning.
A shocked eyewitness told NBC DFW, “I don’t know how to explain, but he was there and not there at the same time,” describing the suspect’s erratic behavior during the attack.
Trump: ICE and Public Officials React
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released a statement describing the beheading as “unthinkable” and pledged full cooperation with local authorities to ensure justice. The agency also confirmed that it is reviewing how Cobos-Martinez remained in the country despite multiple prior arrests and detainers.
Local leaders in Dallas have called for tighter immigration enforcement and stronger vetting to prevent similar tragedies. The killing has reignited national debate about immigration policies, detention practices, and public safety risks posed by undocumented repeat offenders.
