In Saudi Arabia : In a heart-wrenching incident that has left a community in shock, four members of an NRI family hailing from Andhra Pradesh met with a tragic end in a traffic accident near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The family had been returning to Kuwait after performing Umrah, a significant pilgrimage in Islam.
Dandu Ghouse Basha, a respected faculty member at an American University in Kuwait and a native of Madanapalle in Sri Annamayya, embarked on a spiritual journey with his beloved family – his wife, Tabarak Sarwar, and their two sons, three-year-old Ehan and eight-month-old Dameel. The NRI family had embarked on their return journey to Kuwait after completing Umrah and offering prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. However, their journey took a tragic turn when their new car collided with a trailer on the Hafna-Tuwakh road, approximately 120 km away from Riyadh.

The collision resulted in a devastating fire that consumed most of the family’s belongings, including their travel documents, making the process of identification challenging. The bodies of the deceased were moved to Rumah General Hospital, where legal formalities are currently underway. The news of this horrific accident reached Ghouse Basha’s parents, causing them such distress that they had to be admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru.
The efforts to identify the victims were not without obstacles, but with the assistance of the local police and the dedicated involvement of prominent social worker Sidhikh Tuvvur, along with support from KMCC Malayali community workers, the victims were not only identified but their family members were also promptly contacted.
