Threads is a text-based twitter competitor social networking site which is all set to launch tomorrow. It will be connected to Instagram and is already available for pre-order on the Apple software Store. Users may view postings from existing users at that time without creating an account on the internet (which is no longer feasible on Twitter).
Soon, you’ll be able to follow and communicate with users on Mastodon and other fediverse sites. In an apparent retaliatory move against Mr. Zuckerberg, Mr. Musk tweeted replied to a tweet regarding Threads as, “Thank goodness they’re so sanely run.”
Twitter has also announced that Tweet Deck, a well-known dashboard, would become pay-to-use after 30 days. The move is Mr. Musk’s most recent attempt to get users to subscribe the company’s subscription service. Due to severe “data scraping,” they limited the quantity of tweets that consumers may view.
Meta has confirmed that the service will be free and there won’t be any limits on how many postings a user may view.
In threads, you may currently only browse posts, profiles, and share links to those posts.
The site has a cool feature where you may switch the theme from light to dark by clicking the Threads symbol at the top. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced that users will be able to choose whether everyone, the profiles they follow, or specific accounts would be allowed to comment to posts.
Although Threads will debut on Thursday, Ireland’s data authority has stated that for the time being the app won’t be available in the EU owing to concerns regarding privacy. Based on the data labels in the App Store, users of other platforms have already contributed information about how much data the Threads app collects.
