In Solidarity with Palestine: India Sends Humanitarian Aid
Hope Amidst the Chaos: India's Relief Mission for Palestine
In a heartfelt response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, India has dispatched a crucial lifeline to the war-torn region of Palestine. An Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 flight carrying approximately 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material took off on a mission of compassion to Palestine, bound for Egypt’s El-Arish airport.
MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce this significant humanitarian effort. He tweeted, “🇮🇳 sends Humanitarian aid to the people of 🇵🇸! An IAF C-17 flight carrying nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material for the people of Palestine departs for El-Arish airport in Egypt.”

The aid package to Palestine comprises a wide range of essential supplies, including life-saving medicines, surgical items, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets, among other necessary items. These provisions aim to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people caught in the crossfire of this devastating conflict.
The war between Israel and Hamas has reached a distressing crescendo, resulting in the loss of thousands of innocent lives. Tragically, the Israeli military claimed responsibility for an airstrike on a mosque in the West Bank’s Jenin, where they targeted alleged “terror operatives” from Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
The situation in the West Bank remains dire, with dozens of people losing their lives either at the hands of Israeli troops or settlers. The violence escalated when Hamas militants infiltrated Israel, resulting in the tragic loss of over 1,400 lives.
In retaliation, Israel initiated a heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the loss of more than 4,300 lives, predominantly civilians, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
Amidst this chaos, global leaders and senior officials from the Middle East, Europe, and Africa have converged on Cairo, diligently seeking ways to prevent the Israel-Hamas conflict from engulfing the entire region. UN Chief Antonio Guterres made a heartfelt plea for a “humanitarian ceasefire” in an attempt to curb the violence.
Israel, however, has announced its intention to intensify airstrikes over Gaza in preparation for what they describe as the “next stage” of their military operation.
The global outpouring of support for Palestine was evident as approximately 100,000 people marched through the heart of London, demanding a cease-fire in Israel’s war with Hamas and standing in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
This demonstration marked one of the largest in a series of pro-Palestinian rallies held across the globe, coinciding with a summit meeting in Cairo, where efforts are being made to bring an end to this devastating conflict.
In yet another concerning development, Iran-backed Hezbollah has launched guided missiles at an Israeli site and targeted other areas near the Lebanon-Israel border, following the loss of one of its members.
