Success stories are rarely built overnight; they are sculpted over time with resilience, foresight, and an unshakable belief in possibility. One such story belongs to Sharan Pasricha MBE, an Indian-born entrepreneur who has become one of the most influential figures in the global hospitality industry. From his early education in India to founding Ennismore, the world’s fastest-growing hospitality group, Pasricha’s journey is a masterclass in vision, innovation, and leadership.
Early Life and Education of Sharan Pasricha – A Global Foundation for Leadership
Born in India, Sharan Pasricha began his schooling at the Doon School before moving to the Millfield School in Somerset, UK. His academic path reflected both international exposure and entrepreneurial instincts. At Regent’s College, he pursued a degree in Accounting and Finance, where he simultaneously launched RUSH! Media, a marketing agency that became his first real entrepreneurial venture.
Later, Pasricha returned to India to take on the challenge of running his family’s leather manufacturing business. Acting as a turnaround CEO in New Delhi, he learned the grit and adaptability required to revive a traditional enterprise in a fast-changing market. This period proved formative in shaping his business acumen.
Determined to expand his horizons, he pursued an MBA at London Business School, a decision that would redefine his trajectory. His leadership skills earned him the prestigious Alumni GOLD Award (Graduate of the Last Decade) in 2018—an early recognition of his ability to create lasting impact.
Founding Ennismore – A Bold Leap into Hospitality
In 2011, Sharan Pasricha MBE founded Ennismore, a hospitality company that would soon become a trailblazer in lifestyle-driven hotels and experiences. Initially, Pasricha set his sights on acquiring Soho House, but when that did not materialize, he turned his focus toward another opportunity.
In 2012, Ennismore acquired the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch, a bold move that marked the beginning of an incredible global journey. Pasricha’s vision transformed The Hoxton into a collection of vibrant, open-house hotels designed for curious and creative minds. What started in London soon expanded to Amsterdam, Paris, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin, and beyond, making The Hoxton one of the most recognizable lifestyle hotel brands in the world.
Sharan Pasricha: Reviving Gleneagles – Breathing New Life into a Scottish Icon
Another milestone came in 2015 when Ennismore acquired the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, an iconic property with a rich history but in need of reinvention. Under Pasricha’s leadership, Gleneagles underwent more than a dozen renovation projects, including revitalized bars, brasseries, and wellness spaces. The transformation not only elevated its global prestige but also boosted revenues to record levels.
In 2021, Pasricha launched the Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh, marking the first new expansion of the brand in nearly a century. This achievement was recognized when the property won “Best Hotel” at the GQ Food & Drink Awards 2023.
Expanding the Ennismore Universe – Innovation Beyond Hotels
For Sharan Pasricha MBE, hospitality is not confined to hotels—it is about creating communities and unforgettable experiences. He launched Working From_, a coworking concept that blends hospitality with productivity, and Maison Estelle, an exclusive private members’ club in Mayfair. Additionally, Estelle Manor, a luxury country club and hotel in Oxfordshire, became another jewel in his portfolio.
In 2023, he introduced Dis-loyalty, a groundbreaking travel and dining membership program spanning 80 hotels and 170 venues across 50 destinations. This innovation reflects Pasricha’s belief in rewarding curiosity and exploration rather than routine loyalty.
Joint Venture with Accor – Building the World’s Fastest-Growing Hospitality Company
In 2021, Pasricha entered into a joint venture with Accor, Europe’s largest hotel company. This partnership created the fastest-growing lifestyle hospitality company in the world, valued at more than €2 billion in 2022. Today, Ennismore operates with three main business units:
-
Lifestyle Collective – featuring brands like Hoxton, Mama Shelter, Mondrian, Delano, 25hours, and SLS.
-
Immersive Resorts – led by Rixos, creating experiences rooted in escapism and entertainment.
-
Iconic Luxury Venues – through Paris Society, curating restaurants, bars, and nightlife experiences in Europe and the Middle East.
Pasricha now serves as Founder & Co-CEO of Ennismore, steering a collective of founder-led brands with creativity, purpose, and community at their core.
