Early Life and Education of Sethuraman Panchanathan
Born and raised in Chennai, India, Sethuraman Panchanathan’s journey began at Vivekananda College (University of Madras), where he graduated in 1981 with a B.Sc. in physics. His insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, where he earned a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1984.
Panchanathan continued his academic pursuits, completing an M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1986, and later obtaining his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Ottawa in Canada in 1989.
Academic Ascendancy
Panchanathan’s academic journey took a pivotal turn when he joined the University of Ottawa as an assistant professor in 1989. His dedication and contributions led to his promotion to associate professor in 1994.
In 1997, he made a significant move to Arizona State University (ASU) as a tenured associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
