German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to India on October 25 and 26 underscored the growing significance of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership. The student population from India in Germany has surged, growing from 5,000 in 2016 to nearly 50,000 in 2024. Chancellor Scholz’s visit highlighted the importance of the Migration and Mobility Pact, which will expand annual skilled labor visas from 20,000 to 90,000, ensuring smoother processes for students, professionals, and skilled workers aiming to study or work in Germany.
