Saurabh Mittal: Rise of a Modern Innovator & Philanthropist

Saurabh Mittal: Crafting Empires in Technology, Finance, Media, and Education

The Saurabh Mittal Leadership Journey is the story of a dreamer who refused to limit his aspirations to the boundaries of geography or convention. Born in 1973, Saurabh Mittal has emerged as one of the world’s most influential Singapore-based Indian entrepreneurs—driving innovation, building global platforms, and uplifting communities with quiet determination and extraordinary clarity of purpose.

His path from a gifted engineering student at IIT Delhi to a global business leader is marked by discipline, intellect, resilience, and an unwavering belief that success must always be paired with service.

Saurabh Mittal: A Scholar with Purpose

The foundation of Mittal’s journey was laid early. At the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, he pursued his BS in Electrical Engineering with unmatched excellence, graduating as the Best Graduating Student and receiving the prestigious Alok Saxena Memorial Award.

This academic brilliance propelled him to Harvard Business School, where he once again stood out—earning his MBA with High Distinction and being named a George F. Baker Scholar, an honor reserved for the top 5% of the class.

These achievements were not just milestones. They were the beginning of a mindset: to aim higher, to think broader, and to build boldly.

Indiabulls: The First Big Bet

In 1999, Mittal co-founded Indiabulls, a financial services and real estate conglomerate that would soon become one of India’s most influential business groups. It was the era of new opportunities, and Mittal—along with fellow IIT classmates—pushed boundaries with uncommon courage.

As Co-Founder and Vice Chairman until 2014, he helped shape Indiabulls’ transformation from a startup to a powerhouse, laying the groundwork for Indian entrepreneurship in the digital age.

Saurabh Mittal: From Hedge Funds to Global Investing

Mittal’s pursuit of excellence led him to Farallon Capital, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. He joined as an investment associate in 2001 and rapidly rose to become a senior partner at Noonday Capital, Farallon’s affiliate.

Here, he steered major public and private investments in financial services, technology, media, and telecom—earning a reputation as a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of global markets.

But Mittal has always been more than a financier. He is a builder.

Mission Holdings: Building Platforms that Will Outlast Generations

In 2014, Mittal launched Mission Holdings, his wholly owned private investment holding company. Mission Holdings has since become a strategic force—creating long-term value through platforms in technology, financial services, media, and real estate.

Today, Mission Holdings is the largest shareholder in high-growth companies including:

  • Incedo Inc. – A major data and analytics technology services firm

  • BSI Financial – A fintech innovator transforming the trillion-dollar mortgage industry

  • ONE Championship – Asia’s largest sports media company, broadcasting to over one billion viewers, backed by Temasek and Sequoia

His investment portfolio further spans emerging tech players like Self Score and an array of global ventures. The Saurabh Mittal Leadership Journey is defined not just by building companies—but by building ecosystems.

ONE Championship: Turning Friendship into a Global Phenomenon

During his time at Harvard Business School, Mittal developed a close friendship with Chatri Sityodtong. Years later, this bond led to the co-creation of ONE Championship—Asia’s greatest sports media platform celebrating martial arts, courage, and human potential.

Mittal’s strategic leadership earned him the role of Vice Chairman, helping the brand grow into a cultural movement across the world.

Incedo Inc.: Leading the Data Revolution

In 2011, Mittal founded Incedo Inc. with a mission to empower businesses through data and analytics. Under his guidance, the company expanded across the US and became a trusted partner for digital transformation. Even after stepping down as CEO, Mittal continues to guide its vision as Chairman.

One of Singapore’s Richest—But Wealth Is Not His Purpose

In 2022, Mittal was ranked the 46th richest person in Singapore, with a net worth of US $900 million. Yet, what truly distinguishes him is his commitment to using success as a tool to uplift others.

Philanthropy: Giving with Intent and Heart

The Saurabh Mittal Leadership Journey shines brightest in his philanthropic work. He has dedicated his time, resources, and leadership to institutions shaping the future:

  • Harvard Business School Advisory Board

  • Founder & Trustee – Plaksha University

  • Founder & Board Member – IIT Delhi Endowment Fund

  • Governing Body Member – Parivaar, India’s largest residential school for vulnerable children

  • Founder’s Circle Member – Avasara Academy, developing young women leaders
