Samantha Prabakaran earned her medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in 2020. During her time there, she engaged in clinical research focused on laser efficacy for skin treatments—an early indicator of her future blend of ophthalmology and cosmetic innovation.
She went on to complete a rigorous, high-volume surgical residency in ophthalmology at Virginia Commonwealth University, training at the Medical College of Virginia. There, she refined her surgical dexterity and clinical judgment, gaining experience in complex cataract procedures, glaucoma management, and retinal conditions.
But Samantha Prabakaran’s ambition extended beyond traditional ophthalmology. Recognizing the powerful overlap between ocular health and facial aesthetics, she pursued specialized fellowship training in oculoplastic and facial cosmetic surgery.
Today, she continues to refine advanced oculoplastic techniques under the mentorship of Sumeet Jindal, founder of JIYA Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Having completed residency at the same institution as Dr. Jindal, she carries forward a shared philosophy of meticulous technique and individualized patient care.
