Raja Narayana: Leading Aditi Consulting with Transparency

Raja Narayana: From Newspaper Delivery to President of Aditi Consulting

Raja Narayana: From Madurai to the World – A Humble Start

Born in Madurai, a village in Tamil Nadu, Raja Narayana’s early life was defined by simplicity and aspiration. Tamil was his first language, and English—often a gateway to professional mobility in India—came later. Like many young Indians, Raja followed a practical path into engineering, driven as much by societal expectations as by his natural aptitude for mathematics.

“I wasn’t naturally drawn to biology or pure science,” he reflects. “Math came naturally to me, so engineering made sense.”

Despite his determination, his dream of entering elite institutions such as IIT or IIM did not materialize. He tried multiple times—and failed. Rather than letting rejection define him, Raja chose resilience. He enrolled at Amrita University, graduating with honors in 2002 with a B.Tech in Industrial Production.

That early lesson—that failure is feedback, not a verdict—would shape his leadership philosophy for years to come.

When Opportunity Was Scarce, Character Was Built

Graduating during the Y2K slowdown meant jobs were scarce. Instead of waiting for opportunity, Raja created momentum. In Bangalore, he delivered newspapers—an experience that would quietly transform his worldview.

“Working with people from different socio-economic backgrounds taught me humility, communication, and the value of money,” he says. “It was a wonderful experience.”

That period instilled in him an unshakable work ethic. He learned that no role is small when approached with dignity and commitment. Keeping his head down and focusing on effort, Raja began attracting opportunity through action.

Raja Narayana: Discovering the Power of People

A referral led Raja to a role counseling young graduates on certification courses—ironically, while he himself was navigating career uncertainty. His sincerity and ability to connect with people soon opened another door, this time into recruiting at JK Consultants Ltd.

There, Raja discovered something profound: his passion for working with people.

Soon after, a temporary assignment covering a maternity leave at Aditi Technologies changed everything. The role took him to Seattle—his first global exposure and the beginning of a journey that would come full circle years later.

Leading Transformation at Aditi Consulting

Raja Narayana rose steadily through the ranks, eventually becoming President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aditi Consulting in 2014. His leadership arrived at a pivotal moment.

One of his most defining achievements was successfully leading the divestiture of Aditi Consulting from Aditi Technologies, which was acquired by Samsung. This complex transition laid the foundation for Aditi Consulting to emerge as a fully independent company—focused, agile, and ready to scale.

Under the leadership of Raja Narayana, Aditi Consulting President, the company has:

  • Doubled revenue since 2019

  • Expanded beyond staffing into digital engineering and full project solutions

  • Streamlined operations and revitalized underperforming business units

  • Strengthened its global brand and service positioning

More importantly, Raja fostered a culture rooted in transparency, trust, and engagement—earning Aditi Consulting its reputation as a top workplace.

A Leader Who Believes in Excellence and Impact

Raja Narayana is frequently invited to speak at industry forums, including events hosted by Staffing Industry Analysts, the American Staffing Association, and TechServe Alliance. His thought leadership reflects lived experience, not theory.

When asked what motivates him, his answer is refreshingly honest:

“Excellence in execution excites me. My passion lies in solving complex problems, turning around underperforming business units, and working with smart, engaged, aggressive individuals. Finally, we provide careers and jobs to many, touching many lives; that, to me, is very satisfying.”
