A founding member of the Conscious Capitalism movement, Raj has dedicated his life to transforming the way organizations operate, teaching that profit and purpose can go hand in hand.
Currently the FEMSA Distinguished University Professor of Conscious Enterprise and Chairman of the Conscious Enterprise Center at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Raj Sisodia is a force of change in both academia and industry. Early Life and Education of Raj Sisodia
Born in India, Raj Sisodia grew up across multiple continents, spending time in Barbados, California, and Canada. This multicultural upbringing shaped his worldview, giving him a deep appreciation for human connection and global perspectives. He began his academic journey studying electrical engineering at the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. But his true passion soon led him toward business and human behavior.
He earned his MBA in Marketing from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai and went on to achieve a Ph.D. in Marketing and Business Policy from Columbia University. This academic foundation set the stage for his groundbreaking work in redefining the role of business in society.

Founding the Conscious Capitalism Movement
In 2013, Raj co-authored the New York Times bestseller Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business, a book that has since become a manifesto for a new way of thinking. Along with Whole Foods Market co-founder John Mackey, he brought to life the idea that businesses should be driven by higher purpose, stakeholder orientation, conscious leadership, and conscious culture.
This movement has since spread globally, inspiring CEOs, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to shift from extractive, short-term models to ones rooted in humanity and sustainability.
