OIC Misled by Pakistan: India Denounces “Unwarranted” Remarks

India Slams OIC for Letting Pakistan Hijack Agenda with Terror Propaganda

In a forceful and unapologetic response, India on Monday slammed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) over Pakistan’s influence, accusing the grouping of making “unwarranted” and “factually incorrect” statements regarding India’s internal affairs. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the OIC’s remarks as politically motivated and hijacked by Pakistan’s narrow interests.

The sharp rebuttal followed a two-day ministerial session of the OIC held in Türkiye, where the body criticized India on several issues, including alleged “social marginalisation” of Indian Muslims. The OIC also referenced the Indus Waters Treaty and called for a comprehensive dialogue between India and Pakistan for resolving outstanding matters.

India’s Stern Stand: No Tolerance for Propaganda of OIC

Responding with clarity and conviction, the MEA stated, “India categorically rejects the unwarranted and factually incorrect references to India at the OIC council of foreign ministers’ meeting.” It emphasized that these remarks are clearly influenced by Pakistan, which has repeatedly used international platforms to project false narratives.

The MEA did not mince words, adding, “These statements, driven by Pakistan, which has turned terrorism into statecraft, reflect the continued misuse of the OIC platform for narrow political ends.” It reminded the global community of Pakistan’s long history of harboring and promoting terrorism across the region.

Operation Sindoor: India’s Legitimate Self-Defence

The Indian government also responded strongly to Pakistan’s criticism of Operation Sindoor, an anti-terror operation launched following the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of several Indian security personnel and civilians.

“India’s Operation Sindoor was a precise and legitimate act of self-defence against terrorist camps operating from Pakistani territory,” the MEA asserted. “It is absurd for Pakistan to speak of targeting only Indian military installations when its retaliatory attempts not only failed but recklessly endangered civilian lives and property.”

A Caution to the OIC: Avoid Becoming a Platform for Propaganda

India also issued a stern warning to the OIC, urging it to introspect deeply. “The OIC has no locus standi to comment on India’s internal affairs, including Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral and sovereign part of India — a fact enshrined in the Indian Constitution and irreversibly settled,” the statement said.

India further cautioned that allowing Pakistan’s propaganda to hijack the OIC agenda will only erode its global credibility and relevance. The MEA highlighted the grouping’s repeated failure to acknowledge the clear and present danger posed by terrorism emanating from Pakistan, a threat that was once again evidenced in the tragic Pahalgam incident.

Human Rights Hypocrisy: India’s Retort to Pakistan

India’s response also aimed to counter Pakistan’s attempt to lecture others on human rights and counter-terrorism. “It is ironic that Pakistan — a country with an abysmal human rights record, known for breeding and sheltering terrorists — seeks to lecture others,” said the MEA.

Calling Pakistan’s statements a “desperate attempt” to distract the international community, India condemned its track record of “state-sponsored terrorism, persecution of minorities, sectarian violence, and systemic governance failures.”
