He attended the prestigious Royal College Curepipe before venturing to Ireland to pursue a medical degree. Initially working as a physician at Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, he soon shifted his focus to law, enrolling at the London School of Economics for a law degree. By 1990, he had transformed himself from a healer of bodies to a reformer of systems, becoming the leader of the Labour Party.

Navinchandra Ramgoolam’s political journey was anything but linear. After a significant defeat in the 2000 general elections, many doubted his political future.
