Indian Woman: A devastating fire engulfed nine-story residential tower housing 750 apartments in Sharjah’s Al Nahda area, claiming the lives of five residents and injuring 44 others.
Among the victims were two Indian nationals, whose identities were confirmed by family friends and social workers, as reported by the Khaleej Times.

One of them, Michael Sathyadass, was a sound engineer at DXB Live in Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), known for his crucial role behind the scenes at concerts featuring renowned artists like Bruno Mars and AR Rahman.
The second victim was a 29-year-old woman from Mumbai, recently married in February, who had just moved into the building where the tragedy occurred.
Sadly, her husband remains in critical condition in the hospital, sparking prayers and concerns among friends and family.
The Indian Consulate General has pledged support for the affected families, with relatives arriving in the UAE to cope with the aftermath. Investigation about the cause of fire is ongoing.
Social worker Ashraf Thamarassery mentioned the possibility of the Indian woman being buried in the UAE following necessary procedures.
DXB Live, Sathyadass’s employer, hailed him as an employee of exceptional dedication, offering support to his grieving family.
The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of fires and underscores the importance of fire safety measures in residential buildings.
