Indian students not oppressed by security concerns in Canada
Safety Issues not an Issue for Indians in Canada
Indian Students : Amidst the ongoing political tensions between Canada and India, concerns regarding the safety and well-being of students from Telangana studying in Canada have been on the rise.
According to a report, some of the contacted students in Canada hold a different perspective on the situation. They emphasize that the issue primarily concerns the governments of both countries, and there is no visible sign of violence or fear on the ground.
Indian Students Updates from Canada
One such student is G Aakash, currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration in Surrey, where the recent killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar occurred. Aakash stated, “Life here continues as usual.
There is no disruption in our daily routines. On the streets and in public spaces, there are no police presence or protesters. Many of my college friends are not even aware of the gravity of the situation. Only those who actively follow the news are informed; otherwise, there is no cause for concern on the ground.”
Canadian universities are taking steps to reassure Indian students about their safety and provide support amidst the diplomatic tensions between the two nations. They aim to mitigate any negative impacts on their thriving educational partnerships caused by the crisis.
The diplomatic strain between India and Canada originated in September when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested that New Delhi might be involved in the murder of a Sikh separatist advocate in British Columbia. India vehemently refutes this allegation.
