He emphasized the remarkable reduction in visa processing times, highlighting that visas are now issued in an exceptionally brief period.
Ackermann stated, “In the last couple of weeks and months, we have improved the visa service to the extent that your waiting time for an appointment ranges from two to five days.”
This streamlined process is a significant enhancement for applicants, reflecting Germany’s commitment to facilitating smoother entry for foreign nationals.
Germany is currently grappling with a substantial workforce deficit, particularly in critical sectors such as IT, technology, healthcare, contracting, and logistics.
To address this challenge, the German parliament, the Bundestag, recently initiated the first phase of a revised Skilled Immigration Act. This strategic move aims to attract skilled foreign professionals to fill the existing gaps in the labour market.
Furthermore, Germany has become an increasingly popular destination for Indian students seeking higher education abroad. The latest data, shared in August, revealed that India contributed the highest number of foreign students to Germany, with over 42K students—an impressive increase within a year.
This surge underscores Germany’s allure as a top choice for international students, further strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
