Delhi : British High Commission Alerts Police to Visa Fraud

Delhi : In a shocking revelation, the British High Commission in New Delhi has uncovered a widespread visa fraud scandal that has sent shock waves through the immigration enforcement community. The Commission has written to the Delhi Police, alerting them to the presence of fraudulent visa agents operating in and around Delhi, who have allegedly been assisting individuals in Haryana, Gujarat, and Punjab in obtaining visas through the use of forged documents.

Andrew Longley, Third Secretary (Immigration) at Immigration Enforcement International, British Deputy High Commission, filed an official complaint outlining the gravity of the situation. “In an attempt to facilitate visa applicants to the UK, the known agents and associates are suspected of providing counterfeit and forged documents to the British High Commission in New Delhi,” he stated.

A comprehensive investigation has already uncovered two key agents responsible for submitting a staggering 164 visa applications to the British High Commission in New Delhi. What’s even more alarming is that these agents utilized eight different credit cards for their deceptive transactions. Shockingly, 107 of these visa applications were found to contain counterfeit and forged supporting documents.

Delhi Center Govt Receives Complains from British Govt

The British High Commission has not only provided this information to the Delhi Police but also shared personal details and contact information of the alleged perpetrators.

Delhi Police wasted no time and swiftly initiated an investigation into this complex web of deceit. An FIR has been registered at the Chanakyapuri police station under the relevant sections of the law. A police spokesperson commented, “The details that have been shared are being looked into. The investigation has been started. We are verifying the data from our teams on the ground and accordingly, action will be taken as per the course of law.”

This visa fraud scandal serves as a stark reminder of the importance of robust immigration controls and the need for constant vigilance against organized criminal networks that exploit vulnerabilities in the system. The British High Commission’s prompt action in exposing this fraud not only protects the integrity of the visa application process but also underscores the commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and authenticity.
