Dasha’s passion for singing emerged early, with performances beginning at the tender age of four. Growing up in Penang, she attended SRK Island Girls School, SMK Convent Lebuh Light, and Saint Xaviers Institution, where she balanced academics and her blossoming interest in music. Later, she pursued a diploma in Mass Communications at Kolej Damansara Utama in Penang.

Dasha’s professional journey began at 17 when she performed at a Brazilian restaurant in Penang. Her early repertoire spanned jazz, funk, and soul, reflecting her diverse musical influences. Over the years, Dasha became a staple in Penang’s vibrant music scene, performing at venues like Bagan, China House, and G Spot.

Breaking Boundaries: The Move to Kuala Lumpur

In 2011, Dasha relocated to Kuala Lumpur, where her career soared. Her performances at iconic venues such as No Black Tie, Alexis, and Bobo solidified her reputation as one of Malaysia’s premier jazz and soul singers. Her journey extended beyond Malaysia, with international performances at the Jarasum Jazz Festival in South Korea, The Rock and Roots Festival in Singapore, and Malaysia Night at Trafalgar Square in London.

Global Recognition: Topping the Charts

In December 2014, Dasha Logan’s debut single, “Cleverly,” catapulted her to international stardom, reaching the number one spot on the UK Soul Chart. This groundbreaking achievement earned her a place in the Malaysian Book of Records as the first Malaysian artist to top an international chart. The song’s success resonated deeply in Malaysia, where it secured a spot on Hitz.fm’s English Top 10 Chart and garnered her a nomination for Best Female Artist at the MET10 Music Awards in 2015.

Continuing the Momentum

Dasha Logan followed up with her second single, “Leave Your Man,” in 2015 and continued to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances. She graced the main stage of the Borneo Jazz Festival in 2018 and 2019 and rocked Istana Budaya alongside the Alleycats. Collaborating with renowned musicians, including Amy Winehouse’s guitarist Robbin Banerjee, Dasha has consistently pushed boundaries, blending her unique style with diverse influences.
