Baloch Leader Writes to Jaishankar: China May Deploy Troops

Baloch Leader Mir Yar Baloch Alerts India to Potential Chinese Military Entry into Balochistan

Mir Yar Baloch, a prominent Baloch nationalist leader and internationally recognised human rights activist, has issued a stark warning over what he describes as a rapidly intensifying strategic alliance between China and Pakistan.

The warning, which has drawn attention across diplomatic and strategic circles, comes amid escalating tensions surrounding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and growing concerns over regional security in South Asia.

Baloch: Decades of Repression and a Declaration of Independence

In his communication, Mir Yar Baloch highlighted what he described as decades of systematic repression faced by the Baloch people under Pakistan’s control. He alleged persistent state-sponsored violence, enforced disappearances, and grave human rights abuses spanning nearly eight decades.

Baloch nationalist leaders, he noted, formally declared independence from Pakistan in May 2025, marking a historic turning point in the long-running struggle for self-determination. Building on that momentum, Mir Yar Baloch announced that the Republic of Balochistan will observe the “2026 Balochistan Global Diplomatic Week” during the first week of 2026. The initiative aims to allow Balochistan to engage directly with governments, institutions, and civil society across the world.

Praise for India’s Operation Sindoor

In a New Year message addressed to Minister Jaishankar, Mir Yar Baloch praised India’s leadership for its decisive and courageous actions against terrorism. He specifically lauded Operation Sindoor, carried out by the Indian government in 2025 following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Describing the operation as a firm response to Pakistan-backed terror infrastructure, Baloch said the measures reflected India’s unwavering commitment to justice, regional stability, and the protection of innocent lives. He characterised India’s actions as an example of principled leadership in the face of persistent security threats.

Baloch: New Year Message and Civilisational Ties

Extending New Year greetings for 2026, Mir Yar Baloch conveyed congratulations to the people of India, its Parliament, media, civil society, and institutions on behalf of what he described as six crore citizens of the Republic of Balochistan.

He underlined the deep historical and cultural ties between Bharat and Balochistan, pointing to shared civilisational links that span centuries. Sacred sites such as the Hinglaj Mata Temple, also known as the Nani Mandir, were cited as enduring symbols of spiritual and cultural connections between the two regions.

Support for India and Regional Cooperation

Reaffirming solidarity with India, the Baloch leader expressed support for strengthening cooperation in areas ranging from peace and development to trade, defence, energy security, and counterterrorism.

China-Pakistan Axis and CPEC Concerns

At the heart of the Mir Yar Baloch China Pakistan Balochistan warning lies deep apprehension over China’s expanding footprint in the region. Baloch asserted that the people of Balochistan view the final phases of CPEC as a strategic, rather than purely economic, endeavour.

He warned that if Balochistan’s defence and resistance forces continue to be ignored or weakened, China could deploy its military forces in the region in coordination with Islamabad. Such a move, he claimed, would represent an unprecedented threat not only to Balochistan but also to India’s long-term security interests.

“The presence of foreign troops on Balochistani soil without the consent of its people would have far-reaching consequences for the entire region,” he cautioned, adding that it could destabilise South Asia at a critical juncture.
