He earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology (Bio-energy) from the University of Madras, Chennai, India, in 2013. During his doctoral research, he was awarded the prestigious Indo-Australian Fellowship, which took him to the University of Adelaide, Australia, as a visiting scientist. His academic foundation also includes an M.Phil. in Biotechnology from Periyar University, an M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology from Bharathidasan University, and a B.Sc. in Botany from Bharathiar University.

As a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University Technology Malaysia (UTM), he specialized in Microalgal Biorefinery, exploring how microalgae can be harnessed for biofuel production and wastewater treatment.
