During his time in Singapore, Arata Izumi quickly built a reputation as a skilled midfielder known for his pace. In 2009, Izumi signed with newly promoted Pune FC, which he would later call the most pivotal move of his career. In the 2010 season, Izumi achieved a personal best, scoring ten goals and providing ten assists in 26 games, an exceptional record for a midfielder. His stellar performance earned him the Pune FC Man of Steel award, cementing his legacy as one of the most consistent midfielders in Indian football.

At the end of that season, on July 18, 2018, Arata Izumi announced his retirement from professional football.
