Anshuman Rath’s rise in the international cricket scene began in 2014 when, at only 17, he debuted in a One Day International (ODI) match for Hong Kong against Papua New Guinea in Australia.

Not long after, he made his Twenty20 International debut at the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, playing against Nepal. This experience, coupled with his natural skill, helped establish Rath as a formidable player for Hong Kong.

In the years that followed, Rath’s performance reached new heights. One of his most remarkable feats came during the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship when he scored his maiden List A century against the Netherlands. His 197-run partnership with teammate Babar Hayat became a record for Hong Kong and set a new benchmark for future players. A New Chapter in India

In September 2019, Anshuman Rath made a life-altering decision to retire from the Hong Kong national team and pursue his career in India, a bold move fueled by his desire to compete at a higher level and contribute to the cricketing legacy of his ancestral home. Rath was welcomed into the Odisha cricket team for the 2021–22 Indian domestic season, a significant milestone in his career.
