Dr. Kumar met his wife, Marjorie, during their time in medical school, and together, they built not just a family but a shared legacy of service.

For over three decades, Dr. Kumar has been a pillar of the Metro Detroit medical community. Practising urology with unmatched dedication in Rochester Hills, Pontiac, and Troy, he has not only treated thousands of patients but also mentored future generations of doctors. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and site director for the Urology residency program at Crittenton Hospital, he continues to shape the future of medicine with wisdom and empathy.

Dr. Kumar has held key administrative roles such as Chief of Surgery at Crittenton Hospital and Chief of Staff at both North Oakland Medical Center and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. As the CEO and founder of Kumar Surgery Center, he has demonstrated how healthcare institutions can thrive when led with compassion, efficiency, and a deep understanding of patient needs.
