The 2023–24 Season: Cementing His Status as a Future NHL Star
Parekh’s second season in the OHL saw him elevate his game even further. By January 2024, Parekh tied the Saginaw Spirit’s club record for most goals by a defenceman in a single season, a feat that drew significant attention from scouts and commentators alike. His performance didn’t go without challenges, however. Despite setbacks, Parekh finished the season with 33 goals and 96 points, making history as the second defenceman in OHL history to score over 30 goals in his NHL draft eligibility year.
