US Reaches Maximum Limit for H-1B Visas in FY 2024

US Hits H-1B Visa Threshold

H-1B Visas :- The United States has garnered a sufficient number of petitions, reaching the annual H-1B visa cap, a critical avenue for US businesses to engage foreign workers in specialized roles.

H-1B Visas reaches the limit :-

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently confirmed the attainment of the congressionally mandated caps for H-1B visas in the fiscal year (FY) 2024.

Both the regular cap of 65K and the advanced degree exemption, commonly referred to as the master’s cap, set at 20K, have been met. USCIS announced that individuals whose registrations were not selected would receive non-selection notices through their online accounts in the upcoming days. Such registrants will find their status labelled as ‘Not Selected,’ indicating their ineligibility to file an H-1B cap petition based on the current registration.

Meanwhile, for those exempt from the cap, the USCIS will continue to receive and process petitions. This exemption encompasses petitions filed for existing H-1B workers who have previously been counted against the cap and still retain their designated cap number.

The electronic registration process plays a crucial role for the USCIS in evaluating whether an H-1B petition aligns with the stipulated cap mandated by Congress.

This latest development underscores the continued importance and demand for the H-1B visa program in facilitating the recruitment of foreign talent by US businesses operating in specialized fields.
