Train Collision : In a tragic turn of events, the serene landscape of Andhra Pradesh was marred by a catastrophic train collision, resulting in the loss of at least four lives and leaving more than 20 individuals injured. The train collision incident unfolded in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh on a fateful Sunday, sending shockwaves through the region.

The Divisional Railway Manager confirmed the train collision, which involved the Visakhapatnam-Palasa Passenger (Train No. 08532) and the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger (Train No. 08504). The train collision, believed to be caused by a signal overshooting, impacted three coaches and led to about ten passengers sustaining injuries.
Expressing his profound shock over the incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy acted swiftly, ordering immediate relief measures to be initiated. He instructed authorities to dispatch as many ambulances as possible from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, the nearest districts to Vizianagaram.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed various government departments, including health, police, and revenue, to coordinate and provide prompt medical services to the injured passengers. This multi-agency approach aims to ensure that those affected receive the necessary medical care without delay.
Rescue operations commenced promptly at the accident site, and an additional train was dispatched from Visakhapatnam to assist and transport stranded passengers to safety. The state’s swift response underscores its commitment to the well-being of its citizens during times of crisis.
