Tragic death: In a devastating incident, two Indian students, studying in Scotland, met a tragic end during a hike. Their bodies, recovered on April 17, were reportedly swept away to a nearby tunnel after they fell into a well-known waterfall while hiking with others.
The deceased, identified as Chanhakya Bolisetti (22) and Jitendranath Karuturi (26), were pursuing Master’s Degrees at Dundee University in Scotland and hailed from Hyderabad, Telangana.

Studying abroad can be isolating, making the bond between hometown acquaintances particularly cherished. Chanhakya and Jitu, both from Hyderabad, became friends while pursuing M.Sc at Dundee University.
Their excursion to the Linn of Tummel waterfall in Blair Atholl took a tragic turn when, attempting to take a selfie, they fell into the waterfall and were swept away by the strong currents.
Emergency services responded promptly, but both students were recovered deceased. Their bodies underwent post-mortem, with no suspicious circumstances noted.
The Indian consulate General informed the families in India, with arrangements for repatriation pending completion of post-mortem procedures. A UK student at the university has pledged assistance.
Jitu, with prior US education and work experience, and Chanhakya, a recent graduate of JNTUH College of Engineering Hyderabad, leave behind a grieving community.
