This hard work paid off when he won back-to-back lineman of the year honors at Terry Fox Secondary School. Chungh also set school records in several lifts, including the bench press and squat, showcasing his physical prowess and dedication to excellence.

Chungh’s contributions were instrumental in leading his high school team to win provincial titles in 2006, 2007, and 2008. His leadership on the field and his relentless drive to improve earned him a spot on Team World at the 2010 USA vs. The World football challenge. This early recognition was a sign of the great things to come in his football career.

University Career: Rising Through the Ranks

After high school, Chungh’s football journey continued at the University of Calgary, where he played for the Calgary Dinos. His university career was marked by rapid growth and achievement. Although he redshirted in 2010, his determination never wavered. By 2012, Chungh had become a starter for the Dinos, a position he held with distinction.

Chungh’s time with the Dinos was filled with accolades. In both 2013 and 2014, Sukhjivan Singh Chungh earned CanWest All-Star and CIS All-Canadian honors, cementing his reputation as one of the top offensive linemen in Canadian university football. His performance on the field was a testament to his work ethic, skill, and commitment to the sport. Professional Career: From the CFL Draft to the BC Lions

Despite this setback, Chungh’s determination remained unwavering.

The cancellation of the 2020 CFL season due to the global pandemic provided Chungh with a chance to fully recover and return stronger than ever. In 2021, Sukhjivan Singh Chungh played and started in all 14 regular season games at right guard, proving that he was back to his best. The 2022 season saw Chungh playing and starting in 16 regular season games, along with both of the team’s post-season games.
