The newly introduced system brings forth a streamlined approach, featuring updated requirements, fees, and validity periods for visas in Sri Lanka.

Developed in collaboration with IVS Global Institute and GBS Technology Service, the e-visa system replaces the existing ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) method.
This transition aims to streamline the visa application process, offering travellers a more user-friendly experience.
For detailed information and access to the online visa application portal, individuals can visit www.srilankaevisa.lk.
Through this platform, the department endeavours to provide a swift and efficient visa application process, catering to the needs of tourists and investors alike.
Upon submission of the e-Visa application online, applicants will receive an acknowledgment receipt containing a unique Web Reference Number.
This number is essential for tracking the application’s progress via the Track Status feature on the website.
By entering the reference number and other necessary details, applicants can access real-time updates on their application status.
The tracking system will deliver regular updates via the registered email address, notifying applicants when their application is approved and ready for download.
This new e-visa system signifies Sri Lanka’s commitment to facilitating hassle-free travel experiences for visitors.
