South Africa Anticipates Huge from Indian Tourists

South Africa’s Tourism Board anticipates welcoming 100K Indian tourists this year, surpassing pre-COVID levels. With 79K Indian visitors in 2023, nearing pre-pandemic figures, the focus now shifts to tier II cities to tap into significant potential.

In 2019, 95K Indians visited South Africa, and the projected figure for 2024 exceeds 100K tourists. Recognizing untapped opportunities in tier II Indian cities, the Tourism Board aims to stimulate demand and offer enticing experiences.

Emphasizing significant investment without disclosing specifics, the Board plans extensive promotion through outdoor advertising, digital platforms, trade engagements, roadshows, and corporate interactions.

The culmination of the 20th Annual India Roadshow in Mumbai marked a multi-city promotional effort spanning Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru.

Highlighting diverse offerings catering to various demographics, the Board underscores its commitment to developing new products and enhancing existing ones.

Target segments include corporate travellers for MICE events, HNIs in tier II cities, millennials, women travellers, and sports enthusiasts. Strategic objectives include prolonging tourist stays and expanding outreach across India to position South Africa as a premier destination.

The nation, nestled as the southernmost country on the African continent, boasts a plethora of attractions awaiting exploration.

South Africa’s tourism industry stands poised to capitalize on India’s growing appetite for experiential travel, offering a tapestry of unforgettable adventures for discerning travellers across all spectrums.
