However, it was her return to Eaton in 2008 that marked a pivotal moment in her career. For a decade, she played a crucial role in running different groups within the electrical business unit, steadily climbing the corporate ladder. Her journey within Eaton culminated in her appointment as Eaton’s Chief Operating Officer.

A Bold Leap to Flex

In February 2019, Revathi Advaithi took the helm as the CEO of Flex (formerly Flextronics), a company renowned as the global manufacturing partner of choice. Her mission was clear – to steer Flex into a new era defined by technology, innovation, sustainable manufacturing, and responsible supply chains.

Under her visionary leadership, Flex shifted its focus to end-to-end customer value chain ownership, expanding beyond its core contract manufacturing business. Her leadership style, characterized by empathy and decisiveness, set the tone for a corporate culture rooted in sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.

Championing Sustainability and Resilience

The COVID-19 pandemic tested Advaithi’s leadership like never before. Flex, with her guidance, not only ensured the safety of its Chinese workforce but also accelerated medical gear production to combat the crisis. This unprecedented response showcased Advaithi’s ability to lead through adversity and adapt to unforeseen challenges.

Furthermore, she emphasized the need for global businesses to reevaluate their supply chains in light of the pandemic-induced disruptions. Advaithi’s insights on building efficient supply chains reverberated across industries, cementing her reputation as a thought leader in the manufacturing and supply chain sectors.

A Commitment to Climate Action

Revathi Advaithi’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond crisis management. Under her leadership, Flex made significant strides in environmental responsibility. The company secured a spot on CDP’s ‘A list’ for tackling water security and pledged to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030. In a landmark move, Flex announced its commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

A Trailblazer in Leadership

Advaithi’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. She has been recognized as one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women consecutively from 2019 to 2022, a testament to her exceptional leadership in a male-dominated industry. Business Today also acknowledged her as one of the Most Powerful Women in India in 2020.

She is not only a corporate leader but also an advocate for diversity and inclusion, particularly in STEM education for girls. Her inspiration comes from her mother, who singlehandedly raised five daughters and ensured they received quality education.
