NYC Expects Over 300K Indian Visitors

NYC Anticipates: New York City is poised to experience a significant surge in Indian visitors in 2024, with expectations of a 14 percent increase compared to the previous year, totalling around 383K travellers.

This uptick comes as the city celebrates a remarkable 93 percent recovery from its record visitation levels in 2019. The robust growth is underscored by the influx of 336K Indian travellers in 2023.

In 2023, New York City witnessed an impressive overall recovery of 93 percent, welcoming a total of 61.8M travellers. This trajectory positions the city on course to host an estimated 64.5M visitors in the current year, aligning closely with pre-pandemic visitation levels.

The recent delegation visit to India, facilitated in partnership with Turkish Airlines, formed part of their annual sales mission held from January 29 to February 3 across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi.

This mission was dedicated to strengthening ties with the Indian travel industry and promoting New York City as a premier travel destination.

Moreover, in 2023, the United States processed a record-breaking 1.4M Indian visas, leading to a significant reduction in visitor visa appointment wait times.

With demand surging across all visa categories and a remarkable 60 percent increase compared to the previous year, Indians now constitute one-tenth of all foreign applications for US visas.

This surge underscores the growing popularity of the United States as a preferred destination among Indian travellers.
